Sydney is a queer cinematographer from Ohio, currently based in Los Angeles and studying cinematography at the American Film Institute Conservatory. She finds joy in shaping a film’s camera and lighting in close collaboration with her creative partners, with a particular passion for using cinema to illuminate underrepresented perspectives. Her educational background includes studying film at The Ohio State University, as well as completing the AFI Cinematography Intensive for Women and the ASC Masterclass. In 2023, she founded an organization in Ohio for women in film called “Girlset”.
Sydney has served as the cinematographer on four feature films, including The Holiday Club, The Exorcism of St. Patrick, Wolves Against the World, and Dead Teenagers. She also brings six years of experience as a full-time videographer and freelance director of photography, working across short films, music videos, documentaries, and commercials. Her commercial work includes projects such as Architectural Digest’s Open Door episode featuring Debby Ryan and Josh Dun
Outside of filmmaking, Sydney enjoys running, fishing, and watching movies in theaters. She is self-represented and available for work worldwide.
